Martin M. Schlesinger, Jr., CPA

Mr. Schlesinger, "Marc", graduated in 1994 from Duquesne University, located in Pittsburgh, PA, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Majoring in Accounting. He has over 30 years of experience in tax, consulting, and various aspects of financial planning. Marc is intimately familiar with the numerous needs of small and mid-sized businesses, their owners, and high net worth individuals.


​Marc is experienced with a multitude of business structures and industries. He understands the unique attributes and strategic planning each of them require. His background gives him the unique ability to analyze a business not only from the traditional CPA viewpoint, but also from an investment perspective.



Marc moved to Houston in 1997. Prior to forming the practice in 2002 he worked at Ernst & Young, Arthur Andersen, and KPMG. He specializes in federal and state tax compliance, strategic planning, executive & management consulting, and with accredited investors. A majority of his clients utilize him as an outsourced CFO for their business ventures. He is an experienced financial planner and has been involved in the hands-on management of numerous multi-million dollar investment portfolios.


​Marc has held the CPA certification since 2001. He previously held the Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 securities license when he was actively managing portfolios, analyzing investments, and making investment decisions & recommendations thereon.


​He has been acknowledged for his contributions to the profession. The Houston Society of Certified Public Accountants awarded him the "CPE Event of the Year" during his tenure as Chair of the Healthcare Committee in 2017.



PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS



Mr. Schlesinger has been a member of the AICPA and the Houston Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants since 2001. He was Chairman of the Houston Chapter's Health Care Committee (2017-2018) and is a member of the Energy Committee and a member of the CFO/Controller Committee.


Mr. Schlesinger is a founding member of a local professional networking group that meets on a regular basis in the Greenway Plaza area. The group focuses on bringing together various professionals to share knowledge and insight.



VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES



Mr. Schlesinger and his family are active members of the Catholic Church. They regularly attend Mass and participate in various parish activities.


He is an Assistant Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 1288 in the Sam Houston Area Council. Formerly he served as Pack Master and as a Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 673.


​He is also involved with various non-profit groups in advisory and financial capacities in the Houston and Katy area.



PERSONAL LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK



Marc and his wife have a son and a daughter. His wife is a practicing attorney. His son enjoys playing baseball for his high school and select ball in the off-season. His daughter dances on the high school dance team and also with a dance local studio.


When they are not working, they enjoy spending time together having various adventures. Some of the family's favorite activities include attending Astros games, swimming, scuba, going to the beach, and hiking & exploring National Parks around the US.​
